To quote the founder of Bridge Repertory Theatre, Olivia D'Ambrosio, Kyle W. Porter is: "...an odd chameleon of an actor.."
Since being nominated for an Irene Ryan and completing his degree in Theatre from Dean College (Summa Cum Laude) Kyle has glided and pranced over different stages in New England, New York, and China. He was an apprentice with Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, has classical training, and great comedic timing. He has directed, produced, and organized different live events in the USA and China. He lived in China for 5 years, speaks Mandarin fluently, and is HSK level 4 certified.
He writes, produces, and stars in his original literary-themed, comedy-satire podcast, The Dead Poets Society Podcast, now in its 4th season. He is an artist in residence with Playwrights' Platform and has directed original works for their 49th & 50th Annual New Play Festival. He has mainly done theater work, but has been branching out into film. He recently shot his first commercial. Recent credits include: "The Bodyguard: The Musical" at Riverside Theatre Works , "Appetite for Glory" at Chelsea Theatre Works, "Julius Caesar" with Actor's Company of Natick, and "Twelfth Night: The Musical" at Eastern Nazarene College.
When he's not acting, directing, or writing, Kyle enjoys traveling the world, collecting TinTin memorabilia, and talking in different funny voices, much to the dismay of those around him.
